Thanks HH :D

Who the hell thought that name up - Botia udomritthiruji (pronounced oo-dom-reet-thee-roo-jee).

I think I will stick to Emperor Botia

This is absolutely excellent news to wake up to today! Great job HH and congratulations to Kamphol. Very well deserved recognition.

I've altered the species index and I think I've edited all the other links into this species profile to show the new name. Text within the profile is now ammended.

That URL still says botia_unknown_01 because if I change anything it will probably mess up the whole picture search system.

Sensational, HH. And congratulations to Kamphol! A very high honour indeed. This is a great contribution.

Great news!

One side detail noticed: look at the photo of B.Rostrata in the paper. Large dots, small dots,...this fits into the Kub pattern discussion. Is it really a Rostrata, or a Kub, or something in-between?

Errr Mike......you might wish to reconsider challenging one of the most prolific and knowledgeable Ichthyologists publishing papers on SE Asian fishes and good friend of this website eh?

Errr, Martin Thoene,

Perhaps you see a challenge where there is none. My post contained an observation.

Given that our understanding of the differences between the Botia species is quite far from perfect, a clarification or explanation from HH would be of immense value.

Is there something wrong in asking an expert to clarify an issue that puzzles some of us?
