Thank you for this info... I noted...MultipleTankSyndrome wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 4:26 pmRe: tank size and numbers.
Seriously Fish suggests 1.2m is appropriate as the minimum: https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/c ... lepidotus/. MonsterFishKeepers also suggested 1.83m was the minimum (although they did say that it was very inactive when not scared, so 1.83m would almost certainly suffice as more than just a minimum): https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/foru ... us.744707/
And AqAdvisor saw no problem with having one in a 1.83m tank.
Of course, if I find 1.83m is for some reason not enough for the chalceus I get, rehoming should be easy enough.
On numbers, as per Seriously Fish, my understanding is that keeping them in a school is optional since they tend to not like their own kind and need enough individuals to spread aggression if there is more than 1 in the tank. So a single specimen will almost certainly do well on its own, going by that.
Thanks nonetheless for commenting.
