Archerfish?

Post by MultipleTankSyndrome » Mon Jun 06, 2022 8:25 pm

Anyone else have them? I recently purchased a group of 6 small scale archers, somewhat inspired by Aquarium Co-Op.
473 liter - pictus catfish, smallscale archerfish, planned pumpkinseed sunfish
110 liter - green neon+cardinal tetras
473 liter - roseline sharks, striped kuhli+black kuhli+Burmese loaches, zebra/weather/neon kuhli loaches (planned)

In a way, it would be great if they did.
I think archerfish are an excellent alternative to cichlids for those who wish to mix cichlids and loaches (even though it is not a good mix). They have the same general 'perch' shape, enjoy the same water chemistry and flow, eat the same food, and do not bother bottom-dwelling fish such as loaches.

I thought Toxodes come from brackish waters. Not a place one would expect to find loaches

As did I before I learned about freshwater species. Apparently only 2-3 of the 10 known species are brackish/euryhaline, the rest are freshwater.

That of course includes small scale archerfish, the subject of this thread:
