hello everyone, wonderful reportage.

I share on the forum of Filipino for several months and I also share with them on facebook for save gobies,

An example: http://www.mypalhs.com/forums/showthrea ... -Stiphodon

the aquarists that joined me on my facebook group International know that right now, I do everything I can to save the gobies.

As of today the most endangered goby it is goby's Sulawesi lakes, this is my priority ...

http://www.aqualifestyle-france.com/t77 ... eat-danger

The loss of phytoplankton, sedimentation, the arrival of Cichlasoma all that is destroying this ecosystem.

As I'm aquarist responsible, I do not want to see this happen.

I managed to have the support of French researchers to develop protocols on the foods of larval gobies Mugilogobius.

If it works it will be a trail for other amphidromous gobies.

Until that it puts in place, I'm like you all about to try advanced in the world of Stiphodon.

I have great sympathy for you my friends, but now we must move forward, because our Stiphodon her in danger.

IT must share all our information together and ask the right questions to show the world that we aquarists responsible are for protecting species and not of destructive of species.

I'm waiting with forward the return of Professor Keith Philip, for move forward on this issue.

I have in my contacts researchers that working on gobies, so if you want to move forward on this subject, let me know.

We need to create topics on food, on water parameters, we try to understand why some species are endangered, what are the elements to trigger reproduction ...

Lots of questions a responsible aquarist should arise.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I appeal to all the aquarists of worldwide who love these gobies.

Hi shuwae!
Stiphodon atropurpureus inhabits the deeply slow flows more than 1m.
Stiphodon surrufus inhabits the shallow, fast flow less than 50cm.

Hi Matt!
Stiphodon surrufus,Sicyopus zosterophorum,Sicyopus cebuensis,Lentipes armatus and Sicyopterus.lagocephalus.
These fish classes seem to inhabit the mountain stream of upper reaches.
Stiphodon atropurpureus inhabits the midstream of the river.
Sicyopterus.longifilis inhabits wide area from the upper basin to a sea mingled with fresh water.

Hi everyone!

I traveled to Indonesian Bali at the beginning of May.
Because the water of many rivers was muddy, there was not much underwater photography,
but was able to watch the Lentipes genus that it was unusual.
Probably it is Lentipes whittenorum.

The video clip is in Youtube.

There is splendid news.
Stiphodon.sp of the non-mention species that I showed in this forum before was named formally just the other day.
http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=315

Dr. Maeda discovered it and identified it as a new species and announced it.
http://www.oist.jp/pressrelease/oist-re ... yu-streams
The name is Stiphodon alcedo.

I changed the name of the Youtube video which I introduced before to Stiphodon alcedo

Stiphodon rutilaureus?? in Fiji

Hi everyone!

I went to Fiji in my summer vacation.
And I was able to take some pictures and video clip of the Stiphodon rutilaureus?? there.
The video clip has been uploaded to Youtube.
http://youtu.be/PO0DnKVW04g

Male of Stiphodon ?rutilaureus?.
Image
Image
********************************************************************************************************************************
Because I thought that Stiphodon rutilaureus was a common species in Fiji, I recognized these to be S.rutilaureus.
However, the judgment may be rash.
The fins of the individual of my pictures are deep-black, and a pattern peculiar to S.rutilaureus is not in sight.
The male tail and dorsal fin of the Stiphodon genus sometimes turn into black and delete a design of the groundwork.
I think that these are nuptial coloration of S.rutilaureus, but may not be so.
Since it seems that other Stiphodon.sp also inhabits Fiji, it may be other species of the Stiphodon genus.
***********************************************************************************************************************************
Female of S.?rutilaureus?.
Image
Image

It is a river flowing through the village.
Image

I asked whether these fish was living in this river to villagers.
Their answer was "yes".
Image

We walked the riverside for around 30 minutes.
Image

Then We arrived at a wonderful waterfall.
Other people swam, but I took a photo underwater.
Only some good pictures came out because there was not enough time there.
Image

I enjoyed diving mainly in Fiji.
I took the famous shark diving and uploaded it too.

Gorgeous photos!! I just discovered this thread.

This is my first time keeping gobies in a rimless tank and I put a mesh over the tank because I heard they are "jumpers". Does anyone know if this is true?
