New tank help please :)

Post by vikki-jay » Wed Aug 22, 2012 11:52 am

Hey guys, I just aquired a juwel rio 180 from someone who was moving house. Unfortunately they didn't have much time to explain to me the filters that came with it. I can google how to work them etc but the question I have is that they've left me 3 filters...
Its a 180l with a built in heater and filter.
They've given me a fluval U4 and a fluval 205 external filter.
Are all 3 of these neceassary or should I keep one as a spare?
Its all just over a year old and I plan on tranferring my loaches into it in a few weeks.
Thanks :D

Research each filter.
For most Loaches I would aim for at least 10 times the tank volume of turnover per hour.

Is the tank 180 liters? Add up the filters until you get at least 1800 lph of water flow.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
