Hello, I've never seen one in any of my tanks before but last night I was up later than usual and the aquarium light still on and I happened to see a planarian (light brown coloured) crawl over a stone.
I've no idea how it got in there or how many or how long they've been in there.
As I've shrimp, I'm concerned.
What would you guys advise?

Re: Planaria
Generally planarian are harmless. Cut back on feeding and do a thorough vacuum of your gravel. It may take a few weeks but you'll eventually get them. Good luck!
Currently keeping: gastromyzon spp., hypergastromyzon humilis, pseudogastromyzon sp., sewellia spp., ambastaia sidthimunki, homaloptera spp., serpenticobitis octozona, Yaoshania pachychilus. As well as various catfish, loricarids, livebearers and tetras.

I'm not so sure... but hopefully.atmichaels wrote:Generally planarian are harmless. Cut back on feeding and do a thorough vacuum of your gravel. It may take a few weeks but you'll eventually get them. Good luck!
It's not like the tank is over fed or particularly dirty anyway but I suppose it's been feeding on something.
If they are harmless I don't care about it being in the tank but I've read stuff about how they kill shrimps.
