Pleco Problem

Post by Memnoch » Thu Dec 22, 2016 11:19 am

Hello Tank Peops

I'm having an issue with keeping a pleco.

Historically I've been able to keep one for years.

I presently have a 55 gal corner tank with my 2 Iridescent sharks. I've had them in this tank for 33 years. They started in a wee 10 gal as we all start.

Fluval filtration , I feed modestly, water changes a must, the tank is spotless and nice and clear and has been.

I do not use tank salt. Temp is 66-68 degrees

I cannot seem to keep a pleco, granted I buy them small but the sharks are soo gentle I figure it will work.

I just lost the lil feller and I'm stumped.

I do not do alot of testing and never mess with PH.

The sharks are in excellent health with great color and activity.

Any tips are most welcome!

What species are you trying to keep?

Ditto: What species are you trying to keep?

How long do the Plecos live?
What are the symptoms when they die?
What are you feeding them?
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
