45 gallon stocking?

Post by Bob2019 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 5:10 am

Just cycling an old 45 gallon 3ft and cannot decide what to stock it with.

Would like it heavily planted but low tech. Due to having dojos in the other 4ft community tank I've never kept shrimp, so I think this may be the way to go.

I have heard some types of shrimp can be grown on big enough to put with dojos, so they don't end up as loach lunch. Does anybody know what type and if this would work? Effectively using the 45 as a 'grower' tank.

Also do shrimp need extra heat, the dojo tank is unheated and average out at 68f, I wouldn't want to change this just for a few shrimp I guess.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated!
