Schistura subfusca............A PROBLEM

Post by Martin Thoene » Fri Oct 20, 2006 10:39 am

This is Fishbase, saying it's a synonym of S. scaturigina.

This is our old profile:

Surely S. mahnerti?

Martin.

Fishbase lists Nemacheilus subfusca as a valid species, with Schistura subfusca being the synonym.

Yeah....but there's no picture and then I found this: animal-world.com/.../RedTailZebraLoach.php

Maybe I'll throw it over to the OT and see what Ken says about the ID.

Ken said that he received information from Kamphol that the collecters were using the wrong name and the fish are S. mahnerti.

I guess that means we can effectively lose S. subfusca from our index because we have no pictures to refer to and determine if any of our UFO's might be that sp.
