Could anyone please work out this conversion for me; Im scared to get it wrong. Basically I want to work out what it is in ppm cause apparently it doesn't damage bb until above 0.038ppm. (its for Malachite green btw)
The dose rate is 5ml per 10g (2.5ml per 10g for the loaches which is what Il be using)
Solution is 0.038%
Tank is 112gallons (US)
Thankies

Please, someone check my math! THis was TOO easy! I probably goofed.
.038 ppm (max allowed in tank)
.038 pph (Part Per Hundred- the Stuff in the Bottle)
Dilute the S.i.t.B. (Stuff in the Bottle) by 10 and you get
.038 ppk (Parts Per Thousand)
Dilute the S.i.t.B. by 100 and you get
.038 pp10k (Parts Per 10,000)
Dilute the S.i.t.B. by 1000 and you get
.038 pp 100,000
Dilute the S.i.t.B. by 10,000 and you get
.038 ppm
If you used 1 ml of S.i.t.B. to 10,000 ml tank water this would be maximum dose.
112 US gallons = 424.144 liters = 424,144 ml
424,144/10,000 = 42.4 ml of S.i.t.B to the full tank.
Q: Do you actually know the tank really has 112 gallons (US) of actual water? Is there substrate, rocks, driftwood, ceramic mermaids and so on taking up some of the space? Or did you fill the tank in some measured way and actually use 112 gallons?
If 112 gallons is simply from the internal measurements of the tank you might take off as much as 10% of the volume for non-water.

good question. I looked all over and couldn't find it. Apparently the only way to discover the answer is to have a box of it and read the label. What is the active ingredient in "Interpet 7 Velvet and slime coat?
