skinny clown

Post by clownlvr » Sat Jan 23, 2010 12:25 am

I too have a young clown with the skinny problem.
Eats lots everyday but looks like he's been on a 40 day fast.
Others have white specks on them but fat. I'm new at
this but love my fish. You have a certain wormer to recommend
Thanks to all.

You need to read up on worming http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=16733.

You also need to treat your other fish with anti-whitespot. Personally in the UK I use protozin, take care as the label often assumes you're running an undergravel. If not, you should use half the doesm, read the label carefully.

If you don't succeed with levamisole I'd try a product called "Wormer plus" by Kusuri. It's a treatment for discus who seem to suffer the same issue and was the only thing that worked for me. I found it very difficult and expensive to get hold of levacide in the UK.

Fish, generally, don't need much, but clowns need more then other fish. I would assume twice wat a similar sized barb would need.
