Prohibit

Post by bomber » Fri Sep 10, 2010 1:25 pm

Hello,

I have a small group of clown loaches and I wanted to make sure they are free from Internal Paracites.

They are in a 150g along with other wild caught fish (datnoides and wide bar SD's).

I have not purchased "Prohibit" yet but I think this is what google is pointing me towards.

I understand I should do 3 treatments to safe and I will.

My question is, what is the proper formula per gallon to treat my loaches. I have read http://www.loaches.com/disease-treatmen ... =parasites and have seen the dosage calculation but I can not order Levamisole.

I would like to know the dosage calculation for "Prohibit" here but wanted to double check with the loach pro's here before I make the purchase and use it.

I would also like to know if prazi-pro would do the same thing as Prohibit cause I still have some of that laying around.

Thank you very much for looking,
Bomber the loach nub.

Levamisole has been off the market for about 2 years. If you find some, it is likely old stock that has expired. This includes "Prohibit".

I've read that Fenbendazole (Panacur) has had good results. You might want to research that.

Is this still true?

I need to treat some clowns, and was easily able to find this product -- I am in the U.S.

I should mention, I purchased this, based on this:

Hey, it does look like Levamisole has been brought back to the market. :D

I think so. I double checked my expiration date on the package I received, and it is January of 2014.

Oh and to the OP:

It is my understanding that PraziPro and Levamisole treat different types of worms, so it is best to treat with one and then the other. Try this:

Read specifically Diana's post. I just read this today myself, and have not had a chance to do much more reading on it. But I am seriously considering dosing based on her listed rotation.
