right now I am only feeding them flakes and sinking shrimp balls. I bought some dried bloodworms but they float and get caught in the plants on the surface and just rot so I'm not sure how to get them to sink. I'm looking for any ideas of what other food I can feed them. I want to diversify their food a little bit.

I have 3 yo yo's as well. They need variety. Small pellets, algae wafers, fish flakes and even frozen shrimp/bloodworms. They generally only go after juvenile snails. Open your lid when they come up to the top and feed. If you hear the odd clicking sound you know they are eating.
