Lethargic clown loach

Post by samifers » Sat Aug 17, 2019 5:34 pm

Hi everyone. I have a 10 year old clown loach who was always pretty active, especially around feeding time. The past couple of weeks he’s been sleeping vertically next to his favorite plant in the corner. This is normal, except almost every time I see the fish tank, he is there, which has been worrying me. I do weekly 1/4 tank water changes and change the filter weekly. He is joined by 3 other clown loaches with whom he normally swims with. They are active and acting normal. Any insight is welcome.

Test the water and consider getting some more clowns if conditions allow. I find high nitrates make them sluggish as does insufficient numbers if tank mates. and 5 isn't enough. Caution though that you don't overstock
