New member ..Kuhli loach lost color overnight..help

One of my kuhlis lost his color...I recently added pool filter sand..soaked and rinsed extremely well..tank has been up since the end of December. Water parameters good my PH is always a bit high at 8..temp 78..had sudden death after adding 2 yoyos a few weeks ago lost 6 guppies and 5 tetras...treating prazipro and on 2nd round...following directions exactly...39 gallon tank...only one kulhi lost color 8 in tank..6 tetras..2 yoyo..3 mystery snails and 1 bamboo shrimp ...I have pictures but not sure how to add.
