Lovely, Mark. That chap has coloured up very nicely indeed! Do you have more than one H. smithii? If so, have they all taken on this gorgeous red colouration? The ones we have at work are a mixture, some greeny, some with a bit of red.

I still have a pair of them. Sometimes they're red, sometimes they're a blonde colour. Brine shrimp and bloodworms must surely help them colour up.

Gorgeous closeup Mark. That camera is reaping benefits matey! I love all the red detailing in this fish...beautiful and very dragon-like.

Mark, under normal lighting conditions, does this fish appear red?
I have seen many of these fish and never seen one with so much red.

By the way, nice to finally meet and put a face on you. :)
Barbara and Martin certainly started something.

Yes indeedy...mind you, I've seen his pic before. I note that Robson fella is still just a moving line figure

Emma is actually planning on sending me a pic to reduce for avatar use at some time. Apparently, she has no recent pictures of herself, but will take some. See...and some people thought this new format was yuck.....so many possible fun ways of using it. It's nice to actually see faces.

We'll have Mark using smilies by 2010 I bet...you'll see!

Jim: I think the amount of redness is due to the flash - they normally look kind of brown, either light or dark depending on what surface they're against. And I'm older (aren't we all!) than that tiny one-time passport photo. Heavier eye bags and whiter hair...

Martin: In 2010 the olympics are coming here. I think everyone will look like smileys by then. :(

Damn - I tried using colon-close bracket, but this new high fangled site converts them! Ack!

Yeah, well... You just turn up your Freddie Mercury and run with it. It took me long enough to adapt to true smileys - emoticons are one step deeper into the pit, IMO.

That's Chiquita Mercury ( the Queen tribute banana) to you Mr Driving Licence picture boy.

See, I can be remarkably restrained with the use of the little yellow critters.

In moments like this, of such unutterable displays of generosity - nay, humanity! - I am reminded how I came to like Martin, and enjoy his company.
