Clown purchasing.

Post by Ej » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:22 pm

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on other methods of purchasing clown loaches, such as online stores, and if you could recommend any specific ones to me because all the stores around here seem to have scrawny, deformed, or incredibly discoloured clown loaches that just plain dont look healthy.

I've seen frank's aquarium mentioned by folks on here. http://www.franksaquarium.com is the URL. I am going to try it out as soon as they get yo-yo loaches in stock.

Have you tried some of the local forums in your area?
Pricenetwork always has a ton of fish & supplies listed for sale, and the majority of the sellers live in or around the GTA.

Frank's has had Clowns in the past- you might shoot him an e-mail to check on availability. It's dry season in their homeland right now, which makes them harder to get. I'd speculate that they'll be more available from November-February or so when the rivers swell up

Ej, you're near enough to Toronto that you could consider some of the shops there. If you're considering buying them online, they'll be dealing with transport of one kind or another anyway.

Big Al,s (aquarium services) has some Clowns at the moment. They are small but looked healthy to me on sunday when I was there. Chek them out.

15 gallon with 12 kulis
