Mike - I have almond leaves in all of my loach tank at all times, I don't know what it is about them but the loaches definitely find something nice on them and I have lost count how many times I have seen loaches physically rubbing themselves on the leaves and like Mick said fry seem to find something to eat on them.

Mick - They look very similar to how my female kubotai was and is now

cheers bud, i might be in with a shout with mine, but i've never seen any form of spawning behavior between them, only chasing each other when they get in a paddy.

That is intresting, I keep mine in the top of the biostack but will move some clutter in the tank then.....

I have y. Modesta that also look like she has two pontoons on her belly as your large bellied. I guess since you don't know when this happened you don't know the trigger, if it was soon after this tank was set could it have been the large water change possibly or the better enviroment they moved to ? Very interesting to ponder. I have hit mine with large water changes to no effect here to get mine to drop eggs at least...

Cheers Marcos, not sure really but I would say that the youngster is at least 5 months old which would tie in with them spawning pretty much straight after I got them.
