Loach identification

Post by Marcos Mataratzis »

Can anybody recognize this species?

I saw those ones on a Pet Shop today. The attendant told me they are "Indian loaches". They were in same tank with Pangio kuhlli.

Hi Marcos,

There are quite a number of Indian nemacheilid loaches with dark bands. Any chance you could get some better close-up pics?

Marcos, if your memory is pretty good if i put a pic of maepaiensis up ,
then you can either rule that species out.

Thanks mick,

it is really very similar to the one on your photo. I´m inclined to afirm it is indeed Schistura maepaiensis. If not it´s damn alike!

Thank you all!
