Glad to hear it cuz that's what we're watching tonight.

Holy crap! You weren't kidding.

One should never underestimate the Coen brothers. :)

Got to recommend Tortured starring Cole Hauser, Laurence Fishburne and James Cromwell. It does contain some harrowing torture scenes which are pretty yucky, but has a twist you don't see coming.

Just watched Eagle Eye.

I just found out that not owning a cellphone has great advantages I never even considered. I just love not being contactable at times.

Great all-action movie.

I watched Burn After Reading tonight and thought... I didn't hate it. But the Brothers Coen desperately need to find a new formula. It was like The Fargo Variations. It had one single shocking scene and the shock was unpleasant and without warning.

The actors are all good, and the story is passable (not captivating) but I don't know... There's something about Coen movies... It's like the whole enjoyment is knowing that you're being set up for a twist ending. But you know this going in... Not my cup of tea.

Worse still, with great performances by the women leads, none of the women characters' side stories are concluded. The Clooney side story ends as a cheap gag. Cinema should not rely on films that "have their moments."

Far more enjoyable and surprising was the documentary A Man Named Pearl, about a crazy South Carolina topiary addict. It was understated and surprisingly uplifting - but also a happy, weird portrait of rural SC life. And the character studies were not forced...

Ken, or someone near to South Carolina has to pay this guy's garden a visit. It looks truly strange. I'm no fan of topiary, but Pearl Fryar has gone way beyond the carved bush.

For the most part I agree with this (except Alien), although I have not seen a number of these. Good geek graphics though...

My favorate are...
- BLUE VELVET - really wackey and intense!
- DUDES - 4 friends go camping, how many return?
- THE RIVERS EDGE - yes it's got Ka-nu-nu Reeves but he buys his pot from Dennis Hooper.(he is playing the same charcter here as almost all of his movies)-"yes she's dead but john is still alive!"
- BAD TASTE - british oddball alien invasion fun. "i'm a derek and deriks don't die."
- BRAZIL - gotta love Robert Dinero before i knew who he was.
And lots allready listed.
6 polkadot loaches, 6 blood fin tetras, 7 white cloud mtn. minnows, 3 gold barbs, 1 flying fox, and 1 pleco munching up my algae. oh yea i am expiermenting with sanils, humm.

I saw Religulous last night, and it's rather good fun. Worth a rental, anyway.

Just finished watching Milk. Penn was amazing as usual. Powerful movie, sad that shit like that happened. Gotta be embarrassing for some to relive those days. Last week I saw W. Josh Brolin sure is playing some assholes these days. Great actor though, assuming he's not an asshole.

Haven't seen Milk yet - still eschewing cinemas... But I suspect The Times of Harvey Milk (1984) would make a good, if perhaps redundant and oppressive, documentary to watch afterward. One can only assume that everyone involved with Milk studied that documentary closely. It stands alone as a great doc.

Awaiting DVD release...

Just watched Religulous......liked it. Very funny.

Loved some of the deer in the headlights reactions to certain questions.

The priest outside the Vatican was good value.
