i was wondering can loaches eat Red Ramshorn Snail (Planorbis corneus/rubrum)? or must they eat the smaller snails

is it ok to feed them snails regularly like once a week or once every 2-3 weeks?

and i was told most loaches sold at the store will not eat my guppies is this correct.

true they won't (usually) eat your guppies but they may eat their babies-if they can catch them.

Not true they won't eat ramshorn snails - most botia loaches will try. at the very least they will harass them to the point the snails won't be able to open their shells to eat. they'll nip at their feelers, and the foot, and the snail will have a hard time keeping out of their way if they are determined. Clowns especially.

Yes, it's ok to feed snails to your loaches. Make sure they come from clean waters, first.

the waters are fine i have a 15 gal snail tank/ Qt tank and i have a cycled 75 gallon that i was gonna make into a loach

so i should just feed the mts snails and my other smalls thanks.

MTS are not the best food. Their shells are too hard. Some fish learn to suck the meat out of the shell.

MTS are OK in the tank, they burrow and help aerate the substrate.

Ramshorns and pond snails are fine as food for Loaches.

I feed my Clowns garden snails. In my area 'garden snails' are escargots, and my garden has not been baited for 20 years. Within 24 hours the Clown Loaches have eaten that snail.

Guppies may not be safe. I have heard of Clowns eating similar sized fish.
Yoyos ate my Neon Tetras, so I will assume they are entirely capable of eating at least male Gups (The Neons were juveniles, barely an inch)
