Thanks, they are spawning already, hopefully I will get some eggs out and into a smaller tank and raise a few youngsters. Madagascan rainbows will be next
Interestingly there are quite a lot of Madagas
can Rainbows ,but there's only two seen in the hobby B.gaeyi and another similar looking fish who's name escapes me
The two most commonly seen species used to be Bedotia geayi and Bedotia tricolor, as I understand it now B. tricolor and B. longianalis are now classed as Bedotia geayi.
Occasionally Bedotia madagascariensis showed up as contaminants but very very rarely but this fish is now probably the most common fish and seems to be the fish commonly thought of as B. geayi
I would love to have Bedotia marojejy and Bedotia sp. “Lazana”, my idea is to set up another tank and have ideally 3 species in separate tanks
