Yasuhikotakia splendida spawned
After finding the eggs in my Y. splendida tank everyone has been asking for photos of them and the confuzona, so this afternoon I went down the shed and took some photos, oh was I in for a surprise.
This is the best pic I could get of the eggs in the pipe, I moved a cobble and you can just make out a very blurry greed spot in the circle (20 pics and this is the most in focus )
I then got a photo of the tank itself
The pipes in the first pic are at the far end of the tank, the reason why the circle is in this photo is because I took several shot to show the density of the root ball of that clump of java fern in the middle of the tank, it was only when I brought the pics up on the pc that I spotted something where that circle is
Right in the middle of that cobble is what I thought was at first a left over mysis shrimp case but I haven't fed mysis for a few days after looking closer it is in fact a baby fish and there are only splendida in that tank
I went straight back to the tank and it had moved under the root a bit more but it is definitely a very young fish.

That's great news!!
Forgive me, but I must be blind. I can't see the fish on the cobble.
Can you help me out?

Re: Yasuhikotakia splendida spawned
Actually, I saw what I thought were the eyes, after I posted that. This is much better, though.
I hope this little guy is just one of many.

Re: Yasuhikotakia splendida spawned
Yeah it was the eyes that I first spotted Jim, I just assumed it was a mysis shrimp until I looked closer, I hope that were there is one there will be more, the way the adults go at food it would be months before anything felt safe enough to come out into open water
