How many Sids in a 75gal?

Post by Batch » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:55 pm

Hey,
A couple of months ago I went from 9 sids to 21. Seeing the whole pack of them swimming together is awesome. I'm thinking of
adding MORE! The tank is 75 gallon, very heavily planted (nitrates < 10ppm) and has been up for more than 5 years. The other critters in the tank are 3 panda garras, 8-10 cories, 12ish Khulis, 5 bumblebee gobies, 7 pygmy gouramis, one rarely seen clown pleco, 10 or so cardinal tetras, and a lot of RCS. A question for those of you with large herds... how many would you add?

Most fish are more interesting in larger groups , they tend to be less inhibited ?

Nice tank bookpage! The most sids I've had is 10 but Batch, it seems like you have some more shy fish & lots of bottom dwellers that may be hard to feed with more rowdy sids. I dunno, I'd like a big bunch of sids too.

Fantastic video! I do think you have enough sids, though. What a sight.

Yes, great video! You have a excellent example of why large groups always look great.
