Re: My new tank
Hi Adrian,
Good to see you here again. That's a lovely sized tank for your clowns! All are looking great!

Re: My new tank
Thanks everyone.
I disappeared for a while as I had to rehome my clowns and sell my old 2m Rena tank for a number of reasons
I kept my Modesta & YoYo's in an old 4' tank whilst I kept my eye's open for another large tank, after several months I found this 7 footer on the cheap and had planned to get some more Clowns. Then by pure luck & coincidence the person who rehomed my Clowns for me was looking to rehome them again only two days after I picked up my tank, so I jumped at the chance of getting my beloved fish back
I now have nearly 40 Clowns in there and they are a joy to watch, I will have to rehome a few at some point as that many Clowns will be too much for the two Eheim Pro 3's to cope with once they are all over 6".

I haven't been on here for a while but I have set up a new tank and just had to share a photo of it, it is 7' x 2.5' x 2' and home to ~30 clowns of different sizes.
Huge tank. It's propably just the snap, seems to be there a lot of light. You must be crazy to the clown loaches with this amount, I have got just 4. You also need to rebuild the tank, missing caves, shellters.
Re: My new tank
Hi, I have to come back. Your tank is large. But not large enough for half of the clowns you have (you say 30).

Hi,
It isn't that bright in there, the clowns are all very happy & healthy. I will have to rehome some one day but as long as the water conditions stay perfect i'll keep them as they are.
I promise you that there are plenty of hiding places for the clowns but they choose to loaf about at the front of the tank most of the time, if they get spooked by one of the kids or whatever they will quickly vanish into their hiding places under the hollow wood, pvc pipes, caves, coconut, shipwreck etc.
I do have some more piping that I plan to put in there once I cut it up and camouflage it.

Re: My new tank
What are you using for substrate? I really like the look of it!
Re: My new tank
It's a darkish brown sand, I bought it from my local Maidenhead Aquatics a few years back. Sorry I can't remember the name of the brand.EmilyMarie85 wrote:What are you using for substrate? I really like the look of it!

Re: My new tank
I loved the video that you provided a link to and I urge everyone to watch it fullscreen.
I don't wish to be critical, but you could improve the video by shooting with the room lights off as there are many reflections that can be distracting from the excellent video.
But thankyou again, I am full of admiration for what you have achieved.

REALLy great video!
I almost feel the same as when I observe my loaches in the quiet of my own home. You can tell in this video that they are relaxed and happy. VERY lovely. A nice happy group of loaches which is such a treat!
At frsrt, I did not like that giant gourami type fish (am I right on the type of fish??!!) but I have come to like it very much. Does it really get along ith everyone else? Loaches can be onery, at times!!!
This was a nice, and inspiring video to watch....Thanks!!!
