Please Post the size and age of your oldest Yoyo..

Post by Pandamania » Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:58 am

I've been the keeper of Yoyo for almost 6 months now. I bought my first batch of six about 5 months ago, then another six about 2 months ago. They are all in a 75 gallon, and are growing like weeds. Just wanting to know for a fact, from other keepers real first hand experience (-not 'hear say' or guessing-), what kind of growth rate is expected. I am very interested in : 1) How long they normally live? 2) How long do they take to grow to their full size? 3) At what point in time are they considered to be an 'Adult'?
My largest/oldest batch of 6 Yoyo are 3 1/2". They were just over 1" when I brought them home. All but 2 of my total of 12, have lost their easy-to-see-signature word 'yoyo' along their bodies. They each have a unique design going on, and of course still changing. Haven't any decent photos to share, they move too much! :D
Please share your Yoyo info! Thanks for reading. :D

well i bought my yoyos from the same batch from the store at different times (i have 7) and sime are dweebs and dont eat and hide and never grow where a few are getting enormeous. not really but still over 2 inches a bit. where the small one looks an inch and a half  . I know they can live for ages like other botia and i think they are adults at 5 inches or something close to that. And your right they all get different markings.

Some of my Yoyos look enormous because they are full of eggs. Mine are varied in age and size 2"-6" 1 year to 4 years old.

I have five that are about 13 years old. The largest is about 7", the smallest about 4". I think I should probably get a couple of babies soon, just to liven things up, and to give them a little time to grow up while my shoal is aging gracefully.

Would love to post a picture, or even see one of my large Yoyos...
~5" @ 1.25 years in my tank. Who knows how old they were when they got to the store, and how long they were in the store. There was a batch that was there for about 6 months at one point.
21 Sids :o
