Orion Joins the 20+ Club
My last remaining clown loach, Orion, turned 20 years old this year. Bought him when he was a wee thing in 2001 and had him ever since. Even flew him on an airplane from Alaska to Pennsylvania when I moved. His eyes are clouded from a previous disease but otherwise looks good. Will get a picture but his tank is full of algae. I think he’s 8-9” long but still does the loachy dance.

I don't actually know if he's male or female, I never could tell, but here he is happy with his algae frisbee. (Apologies for the dirty glass/tank )

Hard for me to say the gender. My females are bigger (10 to 11.5 inches), much fatter and behave differently to the males (6 to 8 inches). Having one fish is difficult to compare. I don't know if they develop the same if the opposite sex isn't present.

Huh, interesting. Orion grew up with another bigger and fatter clown, so he was always on the smaller, less chunky side. He also wasn't the dominant. I tend to think male in that case but who knows!
