It works as a slideshow.
Would have liked to stop and take a look at that stripey fish (not the syncrossus). Yoyo? Striata? Looks like a pretty tank. And the pics are good too.

I have only had him 2 weeks now i see him in a tank with other loaches, and asked the shop assistant catch him for me, dont know what he is but the pattern hes got was so different to the others in the same tank, the guy in the shop must hate people like me who say ' i want that one ' when there is loads in the tank, here i anothe pic of him only a small little fella at the mo

Another Botia striata with the dorsal fin further down the back and jazzy patterns. Feed him up or be prepared for treatment on skinny disease. Lovely pictures though.

how would you suggest fattening him up? It must be hard to feed just 1 fish more than the others???

If you look closely at him do you see the boney line from his head down to the dorsal fin? Is there a sunken area behind the eyes? If you can see the bones he's either malnourished, or has internal parasites, or possibly 'skinny disease'. Look in the archives (above).

Very interesting loach. Like Graeme says, it appears to be another example of a B. striata with irregular markings and the dorsal further back than normal. Was this loach in a tank full of normal B. striatas?

With regards to feeding, make sure you offer a good selection of high protein sinking catfish pellets and various small frozen foods such as mosquito larvae, daphnia etc. Adding a small amount of food after lights out will ensure that it gets it's fair share.

Hi Andy. The shape seems to look like Mark's Botia striata in the link below. We know the chap is little and pattern change will happen but it just seems to be the same loach to me. You know me, i'll be the first to hold my hands up if wrong though.

hello all thanks for all the info so far with regards to emmas question he was in a tank full of other loaches simuliar, i went back to the shop today to get some frozen daphnia (and you were right he went straight for it), and i had to have a look in the tank he came from (labled geto loach??) there wasnt many left but i spotted his another very much identical so i had to get it. I also bought this loanly loach (labeled leopard) it was the last in the tank, can anyone tell know what it is??? i have looked in the index but cant decide.

Geto loach? Hmm could well be Botia rostrata or a funky Botia striata. Keep us updated please on their growth.
