Dark One - that is a good question about the almorhae. i think that is the one i got with adult markings rather than the juvie YO patterening, and the people in the shop sold it to me as a kubotai, but cheap, as they didnt really know what it was. i had always assumed it was a yoyo. i have another similarly marked one, but with lighter colouring.

you are welcome to have some photos, but i must apologise for my lack of expertise, so they wont be great quality. i will give the glass a thorough scrubbing and do my best. Mark has very kindly offered to bring me down a small photo tank, so provided i can catch the monkeys, i can get them in there for you.

would you mind if we had a look at your paper, please?

Hi,
How many of the almorhae and striata are they in the tank? Do the two
species socialize or just co-exist? I was thinking about adding a couple of
striata to my 55 gal yo-yo tank (6 loaches), but don't think I have enough room for a whole pack of 5+. What are other's expeience mixing the two
species?

The paper is still a work in progress so I'd rather not at the moment. All those who I use information or photo's from will get a free copy (probably by pdf).

Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

It is interesting for me to do, I just hope others find it interesting information. Unfortunately it is beyond the scope of the paper to finally resolve the issue of all Botia identifications, but hopefully it will add much to the debate.

Sorry Steve. i couldnt get much. when in the show tanks, the markings faded out too much to really see, and the squiggly one was being very elusive when in the tank.

this is about all of the yoyos that i could see

my rostrata was feeling brave for a change

i will keep trying!

and here you can see my striata with the odd spot near the tail
