can i keep clown loaches at tds 10 ?

Post by anewbie »

Can i keep clown loaches in blackwater conditions around 10 to 20 tds or do they require additional minerals ?

These days google search engine is completely broken via 'ai' which spits out non-sense - still it raises some concerns. For myself it is just easier to straight ro water but i wanted to make sure the fishes didn't have some requirement for higher mineral content before moving them to this environment.

If they do require higher mineral i can mix it with tap and target either 50 or 100. Slightly higher on the gh side of things then kh.

Thanks,

They should be fine at very low TDS as long as the water is stable and still has enough GH for normal osmoregulation. I'd be more concerned about keeping a small amount of calcium and magnesium in the water than chasing a specific TDS number. If you're using pure RO, remineralizing to a modest GH is probably the safest long-term approach. music games
