My loaches.

Powerful currents, plenty of extra oxygen and powerful filtration are quite prominent in these setups. I have one for my loaches. I use a manifold setup as well, thanks to Martin Thoene's assimilation plan.newbe007 wrote:What is the diffrence

martins artical is for hillstream loaches but most loaches will enjoy a tank with a good cross flow.
I do a tamer version of this in all my tanks and I don't have any "hillstream loaches". Indeed Martins 120 gallon with his clowns has a good cross flow and for extreme madness check out chefkeiths clown tank!
A strong current will also push all the junk on the substrate to one end of the tank and eventually get sucked up the intakes.
