Generic Sewellia pics and spawning remark

Post by wasserscheu » Fri Nov 23, 2007 6:52 pm

Finally my Sewellia spawned also., I saw the release of eggs, did not see his involvement though, just the cloud of eggs about 3” below watersurface. There is absolutely no hope for youngsters
4 (of 9) Striatas were first, systematically checking the floor and leaves for eggs, amongst them the young father also spent a long time there.

Just some more Sewellia pics

Without flash, therefore Iso400, did not want to disturb those cosy moments

Thanks Mick,

I got her on 13.12.06 she spawned exactly on 13.11.07, 11 months later, with her second male, who is almost 1/4" smaller than her... she is just a tiny bit below 2" (she 4.8cm, he 4.3cm)

The new guy was friend with her right away, I was surprised... never saw those "get togethers" before neither.

Perhaps it helps, that my new setup has a lot of clear territorial orientation possibilities (which are fruit and veggy trays  - just temporary, for the next months.)
