loaches swimming against current
Hi all, just wondering why possibly my loaches aren't enjoying the 'current' in my tank. i have installed a powerful filter that I think is providing a reasonably strong enough current for them. However, since putting this new filter in, I haven't once seen the clown loaches swimming against the cur...

thanks people. You have eased my mind alot. I am fairly new to this hobby, and just want to know the best way to keep myself and fishies from harm. I think i'm just a panic merchant, but with the good info that you people have thoughtfully posted, I am able to go about my hobby with ease of mind. An...

thanks Ded1. That still doesn't ease my mind in regards to catching diseases, whether there's 4 or 44. Geez I wish someone had told me that its possible to catch something from the tanks and not to use a mouth syphon. Hopefully here in Australia our quarantine laws would make it much harder to have ...

Thanks Mike for the reply. I am using Aristo Pet Aqua Master that has malachite green and formalin as was suggested on this forum. Hopefully then i should see improvements from tomorrow, which i will be doing another water change and adding meds. But do I add meds to only the new water, or do I put ...

They certainly do have white spots and they were rubbing themselves madly, still are a little bit. They are also staying for long periods of time swimming up against the corner of the tank, is this normal. I did check this site re: ich and I have done as suggested. I have increased temp to 86F, trea...

ich - clown loaches
my poor clown loaches have got ich , i have raised the temp in the tank to 86F and treating with half strength medication. I have been reading up lots about ich, and have found out that after the ich leaves the host, they go to the bottom of the tank and encase themselves in a cyst, which is jelly l...

I have been reading up lots about ich, and have found out that ...

I'm inclined to agree with you Dave. I have since noticed the eggs are going fuzzy, which makes me think that they're not viable. I'll give it another 24 hours, and if nothing happens, I'll just get them out of the tank. It's still a mystery to me though whom they belong to. Never mind, I hope which...

they look a lot like the cluster of bristlenose eggs, excepts these are white. I may just have to resign myself and wait (impatiently). I would have thought that my bristlenose were too immature to be breeding anyway. Oh well. it will be a waiting game. whatever it is, I have netted the eggs and hav...

khuli loach eggs
Hi, I was wandering if anyone could give me info on khuli loach eggs. I have found some whiteish mystery eggs floating around the bottom of my tank. They look a little like styrafoam clumped together in small balls. But they couldn't possibly be styrafoam, I don't even have any of that in my house, ...

thanks so much for the help for posting images zmo. my picture quality isn't the best, but here it goes. And thanks Bevan. Thought I'd show you some of the hiding spots my loaches have, they just seem to enjoy swimming in the tank. Couldn't get a decent pic of the fish though, they don't stay still ...
