thank you mickthefish. The plants don't look very healthy so removed some. Yes each week I vacuum the gravel and can never catch all of the sediment stirred up so could well be. Tomorrow plan to go shopping and replace the plants with new healthy ones.

thank you Buffy. the only additive I have put into the water recently is Prime. I normally use Aqua+ but have temporarily run out of it. I use the Api testing kit and the colours were all correct for 0 readings. This evening there have been no more fatalities and the remaining fish look healthy alth...

fishes ill and dying.

Help please. We have 3 tanks, one is a 125ltr hjwel rio. We have had it for nearly a year with no problems at all. The levels are all spot on (checked again just now). Suddenly there seems a white powdery substance dotted on the plants and rocks which wipes off. 2 danio zebras have died . Others loo...

I have two pearl gouramis with my 6 clown loach with no problem (so far). I couldn't use the spray bar as the Gs really hated it so now use the filter outlet pipe slightly out of the water on full power. It causes enough of a current for the others to play surfing but there are also still-water area...

These sites are great! Thanks. Think I am off to find golden albinos starsplitter7. Have checked the sites and these look great, especially if they are out and about more than the others.

Compatability bristlenose ancistrus and clowns

Hi All. Does anyone keep a Bristlenose Ancistrus with clowns? Or would the water quality be a problem (keep reading about the waste from catfish). Just a thought.

Hi and welcome. I am sure the experts will come along soon, but I have 6 clowns in a 48" 57 gallon tank, and know that I will have to update soon. Hate to say this but I think 12.5" is very narrow for clowns! I use a Fluval 305 I think they call it, anyway it is the Fluval 300 series. Like you I am ...

What part of the world are you in? Our LFS won't take larger clowns because of travel stress, but maybe someone near to you would be able to intergrate them into an existing community?

Personally I just rinse mine thoroughly in a bucket of the tank water which I then throw away. Not had a prob yet :? As for suppliers. What is your location? that might help the experts (which doesn't include me  )

I have found it wiser to have none of the ceramic etc. ornaments. I agree with tariesindanrie, keep it simple. I have largish stones, driftwood and root, plus two black plastic pipes which have Java fern roots attached to them. That's where the clowns prefer to be if they are nervous, or just want p...

Fantastic tank and fish! I'm envious! What sort of sand are you using? It looks great.
