Need to give 2 clown loaches away

Post by dominika »

I'm look for advise on best way to give loaches away? they've outgrown my tank and I can't get a larger one. They are 2 very healthy active social little fellas (about 3 inches each). I've dropped fish off at a fish shop before, but I dont want to do that to these two, i'd rather find them an immediate home. Any particular way of advertizing/websites anyone knows I can use to find them a better home?
thanks!

craigslist is a good local selling website.
Some of us are innies, and some of us are outies.
But in the end, we are all belly buttons.

What part of the world are you in? Our LFS won't take larger clowns because of travel stress, but maybe someone near to you would be able to intergrate them into an existing community?

I live in Northern Virginia... Yeah, I want to make it as least stressful for them as possible.

Other ways to deal with unwanted fish: Local aquarium clubs often have people with wide ranging interest, so even if the club is a Cichlid or Aquarium Plant club, contact them, go to a meeting or two. Someone in the club may be interested.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
