hmm, not able to help with an ID but we had some odd coloured ones in with our Cherry Shrimps too. We just came to the conclusion that they were genetic throwbacks to a none red/pink cherry shrimp.

So for one reason or another LES.. and I haven't been around here much lately. One reason is we have lost most of our P.Cheni and were feeling a bit guilty. Most of them we haven't been sure why either as they weren't old enough to be dying of old age.

So we are now down to our one lonely female ...

We certainly did not have any 'special' situation when our P.Cheni decided to spawn in the first tank they were in.

For a while ours were breeding quite prolifically. LES.. can tell you lots more than I can, but certainly at first there wasn't anything we did for the best situation.

Goldfish are usually quite hardy souls. Your fish seems to have the same as my parents fish. For reasons unknown he keeps losing part of his top - dorsal fin and it's not fin rot. We suspect something naturally occuring in the water. His regrowing fin has black patches on it.

That's a lovely fish btw (whatever size/shape it is). The shape is very reminiscient of my first goldfish who I now know was sick, but we didn't know.

Whilst I can't help with the exact diagnosis, as already said it could be a tunour, kidney problem or something else.

The Yellow fin Gastro is beautiful. It came home with us and is currently confusing the P.Cheni and ambling round the tank :) .

Thanks for posting those pictures Mark. It's good to see our Guys and Gals looking good and grumpy in the photo tank with all those fins up! Hope 'Paws' as we nicknamed him will do a good job as an Alpha/ breeding male for you. :)
