Ok I have just arrived home from work. I inspected all the loaches and all are showing no white spots and all look active, happy and are all feeding very well. I am going to hold off on treatment however I am going to be very cautious and observant over the following weeks.

I would jump on it right away if you are sure it is Ich.

That is my problem, I am not 100% sure it is Ich.

To make things even more awkward, when I woke up this morning I checked the loaches over and the single white spot which was on one of my 8 loaches has now disappeared.

I have just recently added 8 Clown loaches to my 120 gallon tank, I purchased the loaches one week ago. All has been fine until tonight when I spotted one white spot on a single loach.

I have Ich medication ready, however my question is shall I treat now or should I wait until I see a few more ...

In my opinion I don't believe the tank is under-stocked. Once the clowns reach 6-8" they will be occupying a large amount of the aquarium.

Dunga do you have any problems having mixed clowns with yo-yo's?

Powerhead sponge?

I have an Aqua clear 70 powerhead ready to go into my new setup however I have read that smaller fish can be sucked into powerhead's vacuum so it's best to cover it with a sponge.

My question is, is there a special made sponge made to fit this purpose? If not what sponge can I use safely with the ...

Loach no.5 just died, not looking good. Looks like i'm just saving the Barbs and Catfish now but they should make it through as none have spots as of yet and the Barbs are only flashing occasionally.

My water looks clean to the eye but I feel I may have water quality problems.

Yes. As I have been doing more research I have realised that for the type and quantity of fish I have I will need a larger tank to keep them happy as they will grow large. Beginners mistake but i'm trying ...

The treatment I purchased today is called Anti white spot and is manufactured by Interpet, the box has a picture of a Clown loach on the front so I assume it's loach friendly. Thanks for the help Shari, I will let you know how I get on with it all. Thanks again.

Thanks for the link Shari, I am currently reading through the sticky. Looks like adding salt was a mistake. :(

I purchased some Ich treatment & gravel vacuum today so will follow the procedure in the sticky.
