Hi again, were just about to do a 40% water change and clean the filter sponges too.
Should we vac the gravel thouroughly too or will that do harm? Or should we just do the top layer?

He's not looking good today-worse than ever. We put courguette in sometimes and feed flake, live and frozen food ...

Thanks for that shari2- we havent actually seen her eat but never do really, she tends to do it when we're not watching!
All other behaviour is ok apart from the fact she is "awake" much more as she cant fit into her usual hiding place. We've made her aother under a slate but she doesnt like it ...

Hi, I posted on here on 5th August when my yoy loach became very bloated. This still hasn't got any better. It looks like a gravid loach but recently has started to "float/roll onto its side" so I'm thinking its more like an internal infection.
We go away for nearly 2 weeks as of Saturday morning ...

Thank you for that. If we were to introduce other yo yos to the tank wouldnt we run the risk of her getting aggressive? As far as I know shes never had any other of her species in the same tank (we got her with the tank as a single fish and other fish to it). How can you tell what sex they are??

I've done a search on the old forums and it looks exactly like a gravid loach (someone posted better pics than me!)
If she's a she, might there be problems if she doesn't get rid of the eggs? We dont have any other loaches so theres no chance of her being fertile.
