Once my tank has been cycled I never check pH, ammonia, nitrItes, nitrates. I always bring water samples to my local store and every time my conditions are where they should be. I am new to the hobby (2 years) and always had great luck with cycling my tanks, and only had 1-2 fish casualties ...
