going of the body depth and the girth, they did'nt need rescuing, very nice fish though. some of my larger botias are marked like that after a days battling so really it's parr for the course in us keeping this type of fish.

i once kept all Cichlids same thing again, ripped fins scratch marks ...

Matt, i'll have a rethink about it but i'm pretty sure i'll come up with the same conclusion bud.
it just aint there, it's rare i look at the fish all i do is wc's and feed them.
the only thing i'm not doing is getting rid of the big tanks or equipment just in case.

not you Neil, you pillock. haha but a lot of the shops now are charging huge prices compared to 18 mths ago for the same fish, like the mega clown i got of you is now thirty quid or more mate, bobs got a small colony of them the dearest he paid was £34 quid.

hi all i just got a message that BAS of bolton have some huge clowns in at a very reasonable price .
so if your in or around the north of England it might be worth a looksee. i was told they would be around the £45 mark.

i use fluval internals in the loach tanks for circulation and it also polishes the water as the botias do kick up a mess at feeding times.
i also have a sera internal but the sponge changing is a pain in the butt as there is no canister with these models.
