Greg, If the meds are working then the clowns will be more active, and you will stop seeing the spots. Now there are still cysts that exist in the tank so you have to vacuum, vacuum and vacuum some more. Did you take the carbon filter out - if you have one. The carbon filter takes the meds out of th...

Greg, I would still go at least 2 weeks. I personally do not like using the Formalin, but then again I don't like using chemicals at all. Here is a link for you to read http://aquafacts.net/wiki/index.php/Ich#2._Foramlin_and_Malachite_Green Here is another one http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_ich...

Greg - you have a powerhead with your Penguin. It is sufficient for your tank size. The other bubble things you have going on are great, too. I just have an Aquaclear 300, a little whisper filter and an airstone and they are quite happy with that. If you do use salt, you need to crank up the temp to...

Well, I have been researching like crazy to find out if levamisole IS toxic to FW shrimp, and from what I can find is that is is toxic to terrestrial invertebrates. I sure wish Shari would pitch in here - she said it was safe for the shrimp. Maybe I'll PM her. TammyLiz - Congratulations on the baby!...

I also want to know if they have CWS do they still eat? And is the Parasite Guard Tank Buddies and safe product to use with the loaches? I have 1 small clown loach that is looking like it has CWS, and swimming oddly. I also have a few tetras that are wasting away. It seems to be easier to see it wit...

Thanks Martin! The Tetra WHisper is a small internal filter. Good for a small tank, but not adequate for a large one . . . but if I use it to supplement the tank I think it will work. My poor cherry barb lost his partner a couple weeks ago. I've had a run of bad luck and not re-stocking until it get...

I have 3 zebra loaches and they are so cute and active. They like playing with the clown loaches. Usually they stay as a trio, but one of them is more independent - when I can't find him I look in the clown cave and he is hanging with the big boys. They live behind this rock decoration I have. They ...
