My lepidocephalichthys

Hi,

at first i would like to show you my absolute favorites loaches

Lepidocephalichthys guntea, i've this species since summer 2006.



Lepidocephalus thermalis: 12 euro for the fishes, 160 euro for the travel to them last year



Two unknown (undescribed?) Lepidocephalichthys. They unfortunately no longer live. i have only one of this species of them. They are (were) from 2004. I've killed them with new pangio and ignore the quarantine. i'm sure, I never do this mistake a second time


maybe they are identical with the hog face loaches, certain resemblances exist, i think.http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=6587

Welcome to the forum!

Those are really excellent pics. I'm a big fan of the Lepidocephalichthys/Lepidocephalus species myself. They are peaceful but always quite 'up front' and like to see what's going on outside their tanks. Sadly I have no room for them at home, but enjoy watching them at my other half's aquatics shop (I order all the fish, so there are plenty of loaches! ).

i also love cobitis and sabanejewia but have no one of them. Maybe Cobitis taenia this spring from a pondfishbreeder(?) I hope the best.

I order all the fish, so there are plenty of loaches!

I know, sometimes i sit here in germany, watch the lol-froum and die...

I have just realized that loaches being sold as Dojos at a local LFS, were these instead. I knew they weren't Dojos, so I picked them up, but I had no idea what they were.

Unfortunately, they weren't in good shape and passed quickly. Sigh!

Superb pictures! I also keep a number of Lepidocephalichthys/Lepidocephalus species. I think my collection is around 6 different species including a lovely Lepidocephalichthys guntea which is a leucistic form. I'll attach the link to the picture below. I purchased this rare chap from Emma a couple of years ago.

No, i know of the picture, i was very often in the "Species-index" . But not registered in the Forum.

it's very nice and interesting to be here, in german forums are loaches like Schistura or Lepidocephalichthys mostly unknown.
