Finally managed some pics of some of the beautiful
Syncrossus beauforti that I got in towards the end of 2007. It has been said that they are the least striking of the
Syncrossus genus, but I think they are stunning fish and wish I had room for a Grrrr tank at home!
Bear in mind, these were taken in my photo tank, so the colours are slightly subdued:

I have found these the most timid of the syncrossus . A Helodes tore my beauforti up .I find them just a bit more aggressive than modestas and have those two together with success here. beauforti are indeed underated. I find the vertical lines barely noticable in these as opposed to other syncrossus. Beauforti appear almost entirely mottled as the others have upper half stripes more pronounced imho. I have never had eos nor the opportunity to buy them but would very much like a large lot of them also as far as grrrr goes.

Wonderful pics Emma, by no means are these the least striking ! what with that red tip on the dorsal , and that overall greyish purple sheen on the body , and the longer forehead lines reaching towards the dorsal area , i currantly have a largish specimen about seven inches , it lives with my S. Berdmorae ,in fact over the years ive had a number of them , they arnt really aggresive but can be a bit of a torment with slow moving fishes , i once had two largish ones doing the loach dance WOW the pair of them went a wonderful brick red colour [has anybody else seen this ?] the one i have now lives with some S.Berdmorae, Y.Mortleti, some S.Balteata , the boss fish in this tank are some Thai Barbs , Scaphognathus sp/ they tend to keep the Syncrossus's in check ! Emma i suppose you might be better off trying to snap these in their main tank ? that said they are like lightning

Superb looking specimens Emma!!
Andy! Ashleigh is giving me 1
Syncrossus beauforti on the 19th. Do you not want it? It will give your other one a buddy to play with. Better than being a
lone specimen in my tank.

Haha, yes I had been trying for a while without success, which is why they ended up in the photo tank.
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
