Strange Yoyo Behavior or Paranoid Father?

So I got four Yoyo Loaches last week, and I love the little things. My friend who recommended them said that hers always hide during the day, but I find mine are active at all times

Especially one

There's one of the four that will swim in circles around one side of the tank constantly. Up one corner, along the top, down the other corner, back along the bottom, and repeat ad nauseam. There's very little time when I don't see her doing it for hours on end. Occasionally some of the other Yoyos will join her for a couple minutes, but they get bored and wander off to root through the gravel.

I'm fairly certain I'm just overprotective and there's not a thing wrong with this behavior, its just... very odd. And at times annoying.

This is typical Loach behavior. Some do this only when they are stressed. My Kuhlies used to do this every evening. Looked sort of funny: They would disappear behind some driftwood and a rock and pop up like shooting gallery targets. I have not seen my Yoyos doing this to any great extent since they were moved into their current tank. Sometimes they will make a few laps around the back of the tank, then like your 3, go back to hunting for snails.

Echidna:

This is really the only species of loach with which I am very familiar.

Although maybe somewhat exuberant this behavior is not atypical of Yoyos.

BTW:

Due to one of your expressions I believe that your Yoyos are approximately 1" to 1.5" in length.

If you have snails or other significant food sources for your loaches within approximately
three months they will be 3" in length
six months they will be 4" in length and
twelve months they will be 5" to 6" in length.

Actually, they're even smaller then that. They're just over 3/4" long. We were shocked at how small they were when we got them, as most other Yoyos we've seen are about an inch long in the stores

Two Items:

One

Your profile does not indicate where you are from but you are very, very fortunate to have fish such as Yoyos available locally!

This availability is not present in San Angelo, Texas.

Two

What I was "trying to get at" is I hope you have a tank which will allow four 6" Yoyos to "run and play and enjoy themselves".
