I very much doubt my Marge is the largest ever recorded, but I do have photographic evidence against a ruler to prove that she's a big 'un:

I've read reports of 16" specimens having been seen/caught in the wild, but have never seen any photographs of them. Unfortunately, in the home aquarium situation, many become stunted and never reach what could (and should) be their true potential.

the largest ive seen was a 14 inch SL female i was offered a pair around 12-14 yrs ago,
the male was a 12 inch specimen.
to be really honest ive never had a clon in any of my tanks, although pretty they have never appealed to me,
i like smaller botias like almorhae, striata, histrionica and dario.

The owner of my LFS claims that he had some huge 18" clowns that were a thick as grapefruit.

Ive seen an 18" or so in a show tank at a nice LFS here in Dallas.

It looked so old , like a senior loach with arthritis.

Glostik- It would be great if you could get some pictures and maybe a video of that clown. And get an official measurement of it.
It would be much appreciated if you could post the pics and size here once you do.

Unfortunately they sold it, and they are not sure of who bought it. =\
