About a week ago, I carried out a larger than normal water change on the river tank as I had a load of spare RO water from our unit. Just looking into the tank a few mins ago, I noticed 2 of the tiniest Spotties ever. Well I suppose they are really 'Stripeys' when very young and these are about 4mm TL.

No chance of photos yet as they are staying close to the shadows underneath cobbles near to the back of the tank. Will have to leave it a few more days before checking the filter as at that size I fear I could easily crush them in a search through the filter media.

Thanks Jim.

I just checked and it was 8 days ago I did the big water change, as I also took some pics of the tank that day.
Let's hope that this fat fiend doesn't find the fry! (pic taken on 6th April)
I was also going to post a thread about how good Cryptocoryne balansae is as a plant for river tanks, but I may as well say it here. This is a pic taken last October, not long after I planted them:
And this is what they look like now - they have gone mad and I keep having to thin them out!

They seem to be doing well, to say the least.
How about a full shot of the tank as it looks today.

Thanks guys, and OW, those nudges hurt you know!

Remind me again later on and I'll sort out an up-to-date pic.
plaalye, the sand in that tank is called 'black silica sand' over here and is one of the varieties we stock at the shop for freshwater use.
