A fellow aquarist on a Norwegian forum came across a species that was only labelled red-blue Botia. The body was a deep-red colour and the tailfinn was dark blue/black. Anyone who has any idea what species this might be?
Kind regards

Have you got a link to the forum? Or better still a more detailed description?
It may well have been a dye injected Y.modesta or Y.eos, that is of course assuming that is in that complex of Loaches.

Hi Marius,
If it was a botiid type, could it have been dyed? The pic below shows a dyed
Yasuhikotakia modesta on the right:
Or one of the Russian hybrid loaches?

The forum is in Norwegian and she doesn`t have a picture. She saw it in the shop today, and posted a question as to what this might be, since the shop basically knew nothing

Dark fin makes me say Y. eos in the specie section....

Not with a deep red body though!

It would be handy if Marius could obtain a photograph of the loach in question from the woman over on the Norwegian forum. Sadly, the dyed
Y. modestas are still doing the rounds (WHY?

) so a dyed specimen is possible.

There wasn't a reason to dye these fish. I wonder why some people are still not satisfied with their natural beauty.
