Anyone keep these together? I put 6 B. striata in with my 6 YoYo's tonight and have seen some quarrelling.

I have 4 Striatas and 7 Yoyos together without any issues. But my tank is a bit overcrowded which I think decreases any chasing/aggression. Neither group could claim the tank, so no major issues. Lots of hiding places for both groups and they hang out together.

They are in a heavy planted tank with lots of driftwood. They calmed down after about an hour.

Did you already own both groups of fish, or did you recently purchase them? Where are the pictures? :)

Ive had the YoYo's for about 3 months and they were in the tank first. I got the B. striata not too long ago and they are just out of QT and added to the tank.

I will try for some pictures this afternoon :D

i have 4 yoyos and 7 striata together. they used to be in separate tanks, and i introduced them to the new tank at the same time. the dominant fish from both species fought for a couple of days, but are now fine and leave each other alone. now the alpha striata tells the yoyos where to go if she wants the food first with a big click or two, and violence never breaks out.

it sounds like yours have plenty of places to hide and loach about. tanja'r right, pictures please :D

Hi Barracuda, i would think that any new Botias being put into a tank that is already home to a group will spell a little unrest , lets face it the established fishes wont be to pleased at having to share their hidey holes !

But things will settle down once a new tank hirachy has been realised !
