In my not so expert opinion - I think Schistura sharavathiensis..
I may very well be wrong though.

I can only see the pic as the size of my phone screen but I'll have a proper look later on when i can see it full size and i have more reference material to hand. Hopefully some of the more learned will be able to Id it properly by then and help you out properly.

Looks like Doc is on the right tracks.

Tender, we haven't got certain species in the Loach Index as we update it on a regular basis when we have the permission from the owners of the photographs. If you could get us some larger images then we would be more than welcome to add this species in our Index list.

Thanks guys!
Don`t know what I`d do without you
The pic isn`t mine. But I`ll check with the photographer if she is willing to let you have it. (I`m sure it wont be a problem)

Hi Marius,
Can you also see if you can find the origin/location of the Loach from the lfs or supplier?

Hi!
I`ll se what I can do
I have now confirmed that you can use the photo in any way you like.
EDIT: she has two of these beauties, so she will try to take some more pics, so you will have some to choose from.
They came from a friend not a lfs, so she will
try to find out location etc.

Hi Marius,
You can also compare your loaches with
Nemacheilus selangoricus.
http://www.loaches.com/species-index/ne ... langoricus Schistura sharavathiensis has a black caudal stripe, the loach on your photo only a caudal spot.
A bigger photo would be better.
Bye,
Thomas

Sorry about that.
TDO is a member here, called TheDarkOne. He's basically a library of loaches and most fish. I'll e-mail him for us.
No problem with you not owning the pictures, i'll contact you via PM for owners names once we get the identification.

Aaaah. Then I know
He sent me his great study of Loaches some time ago.
I hope we figure this one out. Quite funny that they should appear in "the back of beyond" in the Norwegian countryside.

The long barbels looks also like N. selangoricus. I'm sure that they are N. selangoricus or a (optical) very similar species.

They do look quite similar. But not the spots. Hmmmm?
