Hello all, here are some recent pics I took of my loaches. I tried to get them doing as much of their physicial activities as possible. But as you know, taking movement shots may not be as easy a task. I am posting these for now. I will have some better ones in a month or so called Action Shots part 2
Hope you enjoy these!

I will start with this loach. She is a female and about a year ago, she almost died from some chemical in the water that killed of my other botias. At the time, she was also filled with roe I am almost sure. She was the only clown loach that was affected by the chemical. Now she is the bravest but she is also paralized and unable to use her tail 100%. I dont know what I would do if I ever loose one of my clown loaches. I am glad she survived.

While eating or sitting around shots:
Here she is E1:

Pic E8: Here is the main male in the tank. He is gorgeous I think. He is also less agressive and brighter colored than any other clown loach I have. The loach partially shown in the background is my first loach I ever bought about 14 years ago. Ironically, he(she?) is one of the smallest now.

In E11 is my Beauforti. He is quite old and he chooses to live forever. I have tried without sucess to locate him a clan. He is quite close to the alpha clown which is a grumpy female who especially while eating, chases everybody but the Beauforti around.

In E15 is alpha female who has come to loose quite a lot of weight recently. I may need some help with her if she gets skinnier. In these pics, she had gotten a little fatter than she was a month ago.

Excellent pics. I don't think I've ever seen a pic of a clown jumping out of the water like that before.

Thanks Keith, I was lucky to get that one with her jumping out. I will now have to be more prepared and clean the upper glass.

Thanks Val, they even get the rocks around them grey

Dave, anytime!

Ded1, thanks :D Its called Undiscovered. I wish there would be a National Geograpic cover on just Chromobotia macracanthus. The clowns range from 7 to 10 (Tail included) inches approx.
